Holi is a festival of colors which is good to be celebrated in India on 25th March, 2024. Usually Holi falls at the end of February or March of each year and this time it is also going to be celebrated on 25th March, 2024. Holi is a two day festival in which day one will be celebrated as Holika Dahen and the other day is being celebrated as Dulhandi. Holi is being celebrated as a symbol of victory of goods over evil. The is various religious belief behind the celebration of Holi but the most famous belief is that on this day Hiranyakashyap who was a demon king and wants to kill his own son Prahlad because his son worship lord Vishnu and he don’t want him to worship lord Vishnu.
To kill the Prahlad Hiraanyakahsyap took help from his sister who has a boon that if she wears a cloak then fire can not burn or harm her. Because of this Holika sat on the funeral pyre with Prahlad in her lap. As a result Prahlad was saved and Holika got burnt. On the same day at the time of sunset the lord Vishnu took Narsingh Avatar and killed the Hiranyakashyap on the doorstep of his palace which is called victory of good over evil. Holi Puja Vidhi 2024
Holi is a very auspicious and big festival of Hindu which is a two day festival. First lady is Holika Dahan and the other day is Dhulandi. On the Holika Dahan day people will wake up early in the morning and they take baths and wear new clothes. All the ladies prepare traditional food and make the garland of cow dunks cake. After the food, ladies get ready in traditional dresses and go to the palace of Holika Dahan by carrying the Pujan samagri. At the palace of Holika Dahan a funeral pyre of cow dung cake will be prepared by the people as the idol of Holika and Parahlad. Ladies do worship of that pyre and take seven rounds around the pyre with water.
After the worship ladies touch the feet of their elder to get the blessings. In the evening after the sunset all the males go to the place of Holika Dahan and burn the Holi. They take some fire of cow dung cake at their home as blessings of Holika and roast the wheat crop in the fire of Holika. On the day of Dhulandi people play with different colors gulal and celebrate the day with dance and fun. They eat traditional food like Gujiya, Thandayi, bhang etc during the celebration.
